Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to drive the design, development, and maintenance of AI/ML platforms and tools. This role involves setting technical direction, mentoring team members, and ensuring the robustness, scalability, and performance of the AI/ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable AI/ML platforms.
  • Integrate AI/ML tools and frameworks.
  • Manage cloud-based resources for AI/ML workloads.
  • Optimize platform performance.
  • Develop automation scripts for model deployment.
  • Collaborate with data scientists.
  • Mentor team members on ML workflows.
  • Implement data security and compliance best practices.
  • Create platform documentation.
  • Research & implement industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, or a related role with a focus on AI/ML systems.
  • Extensive experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, etc.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and optimizing ML models on cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) or similar container orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and tools, including data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
