Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their team in Montreal. The SRE team is responsible for the design, build, and operation of Lightspeed’s product infrastructure. The candidate will collaborate with various teams across the company, including Devs, QA, PMs, Architects, IT, and the Data team.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate and contribute to the continuous improvement of software delivery processes.
- Use automation to design, configure, manage, and monitor systems.
- Design and architect operational solutions to increase standardization and automation.
- Work with developers and other SREs to build scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
- Adhere to and advocate for best practices, including Infrastructure as Code and DevOps methodologies.
- Provide timely assistance and remediation solutions during critical situations and production incidents.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes & Linux Systems.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt.
- Experience with Infrastructure as code practices (Terraform).
- Ability to read & write complex scripts using Shell.
- Ability to read & understand programming languages: Python, Ruby, Go.
- Good understanding of Agile development and continuous delivery best practices.
- Ability to partner effectively with other teams.
- Good experience provisioning and managing infrastructures with high availability constraints.
- Good experience with cloud cost optimization.
