Senior Software Developer- Financial Services or Golf at Lightspeed Commerce

Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their Services organization, focusing on foundational services across the Lightspeed product portfolio. The Services organization caters to Golf merchants and owns Financial Services (Payments, Capital), Scheduling Services, and Technical Services (Auth, Merchant Data).

The Senior Software Developer will contribute to the development and maintenance of various features within the products the team owns. They will contribute to the codebase, improve architecture, and participate in production operations, including on-call rotations.

What this role involves:

• Delivering on sprint commitments through development of features & bugs across various services.
• Participating in development planning, retrospectives and demos.
• Helping decompose high level requirements into development tasks.
• Keeping the team informed regarding expectations, priorities, release status and project schedules.
• Leading effort estimation for sprint and product roadmap deliverables.
• Initiating and contributing to continuous improvement of our software delivery processes and practices.
• Identifying and encouraging areas for growth, education and career development for your team.
• Participating in finding top talent for your team and the organization.
• Providing technical and process guidance to your team.
• Participating in code reviews in order to teach and enforce high standards of code quality.
• Supporting the tools and products that the team delivers.

Requirements:

• Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
• Strong programming skills in either TypeScript, Go, Java, Node.js, Ruby or Rails or C#.
• Experience developing scalable, reliable applications on the cloud (AWS/GCP).
• Experience in various architectural paradigms in distributed systems such as event-driven services.
• Experience leading initiatives and feature work from design to production deployment.
• Strong sense of ownership and self-improvement, with a growth mindset.
