Software Engineer I (Java, Scala, Data Platform)

Job Description

impact.com is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their global team. The candidate will be responsible for building real-time data processes at scale, ingesting and enriching data, and landing it into reporting systems. The Software Engineer will participate in the design and build of distributed systems and work with well-known brands.

The role involves:

• Designing, coding, and automating tests for new product features around Data Pipelines
• Leveraging technologies like Kafka, Spark, Dataproc, BigTable, Streaming
• Working directly with huge datasets in processing and backend storage systems
• Resolving real-world challenges for Brands on the Partnership Platform
• Addressing complex technical engineering issues related to scale and performance
• Engaging directly with the Product team and other engineers to gather and understand requirements
• Participating in an agile team process and continuous improvement
• Collaborating with remote team members using tools like Slack and Zoom
• Participating in an on-call rotation schedule

The ideal candidate should have:

• A desire to process data at scale and ideally experience doing so
• A solid background and understanding of Java and/or Scala
• 2+ years experience in programming
• Strong communication skills
• A problem-solving mindset
• Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
