Research Scientist, Frontier Red Team (CBRN, Biosecurity)

Job Description

Anthropic is seeking a Research Scientist to join their Frontier Red Team, focusing on CBRN and biosecurity risks. The Research Scientist will lead research projects, design and analyze scientific experiments, and synthesize biosecurity research to establish thresholds of concern for AI capabilities. They will also collaborate with external partners to develop novel evaluations and communicate findings to stakeholders.Responsibilities:

• Independently lead research projects.
• Design, run, and analyze scientific experiments.
• Synthesize biosecurity research.

• Partner with researchers, data scientists, and policy experts.
• Communicate findings to external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in the biological sciences or significant professional experience in biology research.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience interfacing with machine learning models.
• Familiarity with prompting and engineering large language models.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
