Lightspeed is seeking a Team Lead, Software Development (Recommendations) to lead a team of engineers focused on implementing recommendation algorithms, developing APIs, and integrating systems into our products. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with a background in software development and a passion for delivering personalized experiences.

The Team Lead will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and other developers to provide tailored and innovative solutions. They will be responsible for hiring and managing a new team of talented engineers to build a best-in-class recommendation engine.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent.
  • Guide, motivate, and develop a team of 5-6 members.
  • Provide high-quality code reviews and design feedback.
  • Develop performant, scalable, and maintainable applications.
  • Collaborate with other teams, architects, product managers, and engineering leaders.
  • Continuously improve software delivery processes.
  • Provide technical and process guidance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading a team of developers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Solid understanding of development processes, testing, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Web application concerns: REST, OAuth2, Caching.
  • Experience building scalable SaaS solutions
