Anthropic is seeking a Software Engineer, ML Performance and Scaling, to join their team in London. Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems, ensuring AI is safe and beneficial for users and society. The Scaling Team builds the infrastructure that powers Anthropic's largest scale pre-training runs. They develop and optimize the entire pretraining pipeline that powers Anthropic's AI models, creating unified, reliable infrastructure and frameworks that maximize efficiency across different computing architectures.Role involves:

• Identifying and solving novel systems problems related to running machine learning algorithms at scale.
• Developing systems that optimize the throughput and robustness of large distributed systems.
• Building and optimizing the pretraining pipeline for Anthropic's AI models.
• Creating unified, reliable infrastructure and frameworks for maximum efficiency.

Requirements:

• Significant software engineering or machine learning experience, particularly at supercomputing scale.
• Results-oriented with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
• Enjoy pair programming.
• Want to learn more about machine learning research.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
