Job Description
Anthropic is seeking a Data Scientist with an economics background to analyze the economic impacts of AI systems. The Data Scientist will collaborate with public policy leadership, societal impact researchers, engineering, and go-to-market leaders. They will define and measure key company economic metrics, analyze product behavior, and build a culture of experimentation.
Responsibilities:
- Use Claude to analyze user behavior data.
- Define core economic metrics for AI's economic impact.
- Set goals, build forecasts, and monitor performance.
- Use prompt engineering techniques to implement core economic metrics.
- Develop hypotheses on economic impacts, design experiments, and analyze results.
- Write internal and external reports on AI's economic impacts.
- Create data systems responsive to external inquiries.
- Establish data best practices and improve data accessibility.
Requirements:
- 6+ years in data science or analytics.
- 3+ years of data analysis at the intersection of economics and industry
- Experience with ML model evaluation and prompt engineering
- Expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
- Background in public policy and economics
- Passion for building helpful, honest, and harmless AI.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
