Application Security Engineering Manager

Job Description

Anthropic is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead its Application Security team. The ideal candidate will ensure the security and integrity of Anthropic's products and third-party software. This role involves collaborating with teams across Anthropic, providing guidance on security risks and mitigation, and secure development architecture.Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing "shift left" security efforts to build security into the software development lifecycle.
• Ensuring the team has the right processes and procedures for threat modeling, secure design reviews, risk acceptance, and security code reviews.
• Operating vulnerability management, security partnerships, and bug bounty programs.
• Developing security policies, standards, playbooks, and secure coding training content.
• Encouraging automation of security-specific workloads and building tools for self-service.
• Building partnerships with product and research teams to instill security best practices.
• Managing and growing a team of Application Security engineers.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of hands-on application and infrastructure security experience.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Deep understanding of security best practices, threat modeling, and risk assessment.
• Experience securing complex cloud environments (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP).
• Knowledge of AI/ML security risks and mitigations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and balance security requirements with business objectives.
• Passion for building diverse, high-performing teams.
