Job Description
The Student Hotel is seeking a Sous Chef to be the behind-the-scenes mastermind of the kitchen. The Sous Chef will be a natural motivator, capable of managing and inspiring the kitchen staff. They will focus on creating an effective cooking process and provide input to the Chef for recipes and menus. The Sous Chef will be co-responsible for the overall guest food experience, committed to making delicious and memorable dishes.

What this role involves:
  • Ensuring all resources are available to staff.
  • Supporting with preparing and cooking dishes.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control.
  • Arranging training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Scheduling staff according to business needs.
  • Managing the performance of kitchen staff.
  • Translating menu changes into accurate recipes.
  • Purchasing supplies and ingredients.
  • Monitoring accurate execution of HACCP guidelines.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a managerial role at a similar level kitchen.
  • HACCP certified.
  • Strong knowledge of food products and market standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern cooking techniques.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
  • Legally allowed to work in Italy.
