Job Description
The Student Hotel is seeking a Rooftop Head Chef in Glasgow to lead the kitchen team and create exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will oversee menu creation, food preparation, and staff management, ensuring smooth service. They will work closely with the Rooftop General Manager to drive quality, creativity, and operational excellence while meeting business goals.
Role involves: - Leading kitchen staff by recruiting, onboarding, and training.
- Creating seasonal menus featuring vibrant Mexican cuisine.
- Overseeing food preparation and service, maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Controlling food and labor costs, managing inventory, and minimizing waste.
- Delivering excellent dishes and incorporating customer feedback.
- Collaborating with the Group Executive Chef and other departments.
Requirements: - Minimum 3 years as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-paced, high-quality kitchen.
- Proven ability to build, train, and manage a high-performing team.
- Strong background in kitchen systems, inventory control, and workflow management.
- Experience implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and developing innovative menus.
- Experience with Mexican cuisine is a big plus.
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize financial performance.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
