Senior Network Engineer

KAYAK is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Network Operations team. This role involves 24x7 operation of KAYAK's network, ensuring a stable foundation for global users. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the global network infrastructure, with a focus on stability, security, and scalability. This position requires working from the Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and deploying data center network fabric
• Monitoring and maintaining all network equipment via SNMP, API or other means available
• Maintaining network security policies on Palo Alto firewalls
• Scaling data center interconnects as needed
• Researching and implementing new connectivity methods to AWS infrastructure
• Collaborating with diverse teams to integrate on premises Kubernetes clusters into our infrastructure
• Improving and maintaining existing enterprise office network infrastructure
• Acting as an escalation point for network operations queries

Requirements:

• At least 4 years experience configuring and maintaining web-scale production networks
• Strong Linux skills (3 or more years preferred)
• Experience with network automation, specifically using Ansible
• Dedicated and has a growth-mindset to improve themselves, the team, and the business
• Excellent collaboration skills and are able to document work and share knowledge with the rest of the team internally and externally
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience with designing, troubleshooting, and operating data center networks including L2 switching and L3 routing with OSPF and BGP
• Experience with Linux routing software such as FRR, BIRD, or equivalent
• Experience with automating network tasks using scripting or configuration management tools such as Ansible and Python
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Dell, switches, and security appliances
• Experience operating OpenFlow networks and/or BigSwitch Cloud Fabric
• Experience working with Amazon AWS
