Job Description
KAYAK is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Network Operations team. This role involves maintaining, improving, and automating the KAYAK Network. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the global network infrastructure, ensuring it is stable, secure, and scalable. This position requires working from the Cambridge, MA office at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Designing and deploying data center network fabric
  • Monitoring and maintaining all network equipment
  • Maintaining network security policies on Palo Alto firewalls
  • Scaling data center interconnects
  • Researching and implementing new connectivity methods to AWS infrastructure
  • Collaborating with teams to integrate on premises Kubernetes clusters
  • Improving and maintaining existing enterprise office network infrastructure
  • Acting as an escalation point for network operations queries

Requirements:
  • At least 4 years experience configuring and maintaining web-scale production networks
  • Strong Linux skills (3 or more years preferred)
  • Experience with network automation, specifically using Ansible
  • Dedicated and has a growth-mindset
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with data center networks, Linux routing software, scripting, Cisco, Juniper, and Dell switches, OpenFlow networks, and Amazon AWS
