Staff Platform Engineer

Blacklane is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to play a crucial role in shaping the technical strategy for the Platform Domain. This individual will collaborate with the Developer Experience (DevEx) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to integrate best practices and deliver high-quality features. The Staff Platform Engineer will influence team roadmaps, lead large-scale projects, and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Role involves:

• Developing and implementing the technical strategy for the Platform Domain.
• Influencing and guiding the roadmaps of Teams within the Domain.
• Defining and communicating the tech vision for the Domain.
• Leading delivery of large-scale, complex projects.
• Tackling open-ended, and ambiguous problems.
• Mentoring and inspiring other engineers.

Requirements:

• Proven expertise in Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Developer Experience and Security best practices.
• Experience in influencing technical and product direction.
• Demonstrated ability to lead delivery of complex, high-impact projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and legal compliance in security and reliability (e.g., GDPR, SOC2) is a plus.
