Microwave Tower Technician

Job Description

DRW is seeking a Microwave Tower Technician to support its internally managed wireless networks in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will provide quick and consistent responses to network needs, collaborating with professionals in the financial industry. The role involves millimeter wave installations, path alignments, and troubleshooting. It also includes office downtime, lab testing, path design, equipment configuration, testing, and stakeholder planning. DRW encourages candidates to expand their skills beyond climbing and contribute to optimizing solutions in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform work on towers and rooftops including line and antenna installation.
• Respond to trouble tickets.
• Assist in project budgeting and schedule estimating.
• Operate supporting equipment.
• Keep site documentation up to date.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Industry-required certifications for climbing and equipment maintenance.
• Experience with path alignment and troubleshooting of millimeter wave links.
• Experience with spectrum analyzers, bit error rate testers.
• Experience with electrical work.
• Comfortable with computers and productivity applications.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• CPR/Basic First Aid training required.
• OSHA 10 minimum, OSHA 30 a plus.
