Technical Program Manager, Robotics

Job Description

Google DeepMind is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Robotics Operations team. This role supports the Google DeepMind Robotics research organization by providing robot platforms, lab spaces, data collection, and policy evaluation resources to solve "Embodied AI." The Technical Program Manager will apply program management methodologies to multiple research initiatives, accelerating Google DeepMind's Embodied AI goals safely and responsibly.Role involves:

• Applying technical knowledge to identify and execute pragmatic solutions.
• Partnering with data collection teams to establish and govern internal data collection efforts.
• Leading partnerships with research teams to ensure seamless delivery of new evaluations and data collections.
• Monitoring and reporting on operational efficiency and resource utilization metrics.
• Overseeing the design and implementation of new environments for data collection or robot platform modifications.
• Evaluating and improving processes, tools, templates, and documentation.
• Driving conversations, meetings, and opportunities for collaboration.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of robotics domain knowledge and experience.
• Experience partnering with Research/Engineering leads on high-impact projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience (8-12 years).
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes and workflows.
• Excellent technical understanding and communication skills.
• Experience in solving complex challenges and implementing scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of AI/machine learning research.
• Familiarity with hardware and software testing and safety protocols.
