Principal Systems Engineer

Job Description

2K Games is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for their 2K Sports Lab in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing core engine technologies for the game. They will solve technical issues, debug low-level problems, and manage performance profiling. The role involves developing and maintaining automation toolsets, managing branching strategies, and contributing to the development of standards. They will also mentor other systems team members and share opinions on the game experience.Responsibilities include:

• Developing, maintaining, and optimizing core engine technologies
• Solving technical issues and providing user support
• Debugging low-level issues like crashes and desyncs
• Owning performance profiling and implementing optimizations
• Developing and maintaining automation toolsets for testing
• Managing branching strategies and integrations
• Contributing to the development of standards
• Mentoring other systems team members
• Sharing opinions on the game experience
• Managing and contributing to positive team morale

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience
• Shipped at least two AAA titles
• Experience leading teams to architect and develop core engine systems
• Expertise with C++ and strong coding principles
• Experienced in Memory, Load Time, GPU and CPU optimization
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 development
• Strong ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams
• Willingness to share opinions and consider others' perspectives
