Senior Gameplay Systems Engineer

2K Games is seeking a Senior Gameplay Systems Engineer to join their team in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will value efficiency, productivity, and collaboration. This role involves working closely with the Technical Director and collaborating with AI and Animation Engineering teams, Animators, and Designers.

The Senior Gameplay Systems Engineer will contribute to the research and development of future sports interactive entertainment programs. He will help develop workflows, architecture, and tools that will enable the Gameplay team to do its best work.

What this role involves:

• Providing software and tools support to Engineers, Production, and Artists.
• Developing tools for rapid iteration, efficient issue diagnosis, and automated workflows.
• Communicating cross-discipline and providing innovative solutions to pipeline and testbed issues.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and providing user support.
• Debugging low-level issues like crashes and desyncs.
• Owning and running performance profiling and devising optimization plans.
• Managing branching strategies and integrations.
• Contributing to the development of standards and conventions.
• Mentoring other systems team members.
• Writing and maintaining documentation.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience developing multi-platform projects.
• Expertise with C++ and strong coding architectural design principles.
• Experience researching and implementing new techniques.
• Experience designing and creating systems, tools, and assets.
• Experience with version control systems (Perforce) and animation management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
