2K Games is seeking a Senior Gameplay Animation Engineer to join their new studio and contribute to the development of new animation features and gameplay mechanics. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Animators, Design, and Production teams to develop sophisticated animation behaviors that authentically replicate sport. This role involves building, iterating, and innovating to polish world-class gameplay for a future massive sports franchise.
What This Role Involves: - Collaborating with gameplay engineers/designers to develop new gameplay features.
- Owning key animation-driven gameplay mechanics.
- Supporting requests and features for content creation tools, and animation review/analysis.
- Assisting engineers in making the best use of existing and new animation features.
- Keeping up to date with the latest industry work and implementing these techniques.
- Writing and maintaining robust and performant code.
- Optimizing code and debugging animation issues as they arise.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Excellent 3D math and linear algebra skills.
- Solid familiarity and experience with C++.
- 2+ years of proven experience working with animation or gameplay systems.
- Implementation experience in inverse kinematics, procedural animation, keyframe animation, and forward kinematics.
- Ability to explain technical topics to people of varying levels of expertise.
- An eye for detail in creating dynamic, authentic, and responsive character animation.
- Love for video games.
