Senior 3D Character Artist

Job Description

HB Studios, a driving force in sports video game creation and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf, is seeking a Senior 3D Character Artist. This role involves collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to develop high-quality character art for their Console and PC game.

The Senior 3D Character Artist will contribute to one of the fastest-growing sports games series in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Art Manager to visualize and develop asset production pipelines.
• Develop hyper-realistic characters and clothing.
• Create high and low-poly models using groundbreaking techniques.
• Build positive relationships and participate in team meetings.
• Work with the development team to prioritize and develop procedural assets.
• Work closely with Technical Art on accurate functionality of final Character assets.
• Mentor and facilitate learning with team members.
• Research industry developments and explore new tools and techniques.
• Write and maintain documentation of workbooks on Confluence.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6+ years of industry experience with a focus on Character Art.
• Outstanding clothing creation abilities.
• Technical experience with art tools and programs (Maya, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, and Photoshop).
• Knowledge of 3D modeling trends and pipelines.
• Proficiency with Project Management & Source Control software.
• Solid understanding of human anatomy for modeling.
• Solid understanding of rigging, weighting, UV, and texture layout.
• Proven experience making Hairs is a plus.
