Job Description
HB Studios, a driving force in sports video game creation, is seeking an Audio Designer to join their team in Nova Scotia. The Audio Designer will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to build and implement high-quality audio for their sports game series.
Role Involves:
- Collaborating with Leads to maintain alignment with audio vision.
- Partnering with other departments to ensure smooth audio integration.
- Creating, editing, and implementing original audio assets.
- Ensuring consistency and quality of dialogue editing and integration.
- Designing, testing, and validating innovative features.
- Managing and optimizing a large database of audio assets.
- Identifying, tracking, and resolving audio-related bugs.
- Providing input to the improvement of audio tools and workflows.
- Mentoring junior team members and documenting audio processes and workflows.
Requirements:
- 2 to 4+ years of industry experience in Audio Design.
- Practical knowledge or degree in Audio Design or Music Technology.
- Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (e.g., Reaper, Adobe Audition, Ableton Live).
- Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git) and data management software (e.g. Microsoft Access).
- Strong understanding of Audio Implementation Tools and Middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
- Demonstrated knowledge in editing and mastering dialogue, synthesis, sound design, and audio mixing techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages relevant to game audio implementation.
- Experience with music composition.
