Field Engineering Lead, Germany

Wayve is seeking a Field Engineering Lead in Germany. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of Wayve's vehicle fleet through rapid fault diagnosis and resolution. The Field Engineering Lead will oversee field engineers, maintain strict safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in field engineering support. This position requires hands-on leadership, strong coordination with global teams, and participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading on-site fault triage and resolution.
• Collaborating with the Reliability Engineering team.
• Developing and enforcing structured processes for fault diagnosis and repair.
• Overseeing and supporting field engineers.
• Managing global operational handovers.
• Coordinating on-call support and shift coverage.
• Upholding strict safety and compliance standards.
• Continuously improving field engineering support.

Requirements include:

• Leading by example in hardware, software, and automotive system issue resolution.
• Taking full ownership of the field engineering function.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, fault triage, and repair processes.
• Skilled in process development, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency.
• Excellent ability to coordinate with global teams.
• Deep understanding of safety protocols and incident management.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with on-call rotations.
