Principal Machine Learning Engineer (Scenario Technology)

Job Description

Wayve is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join their Scenario Technology and Coverage team. This role is pivotal in building scalable, data-driven scenarios for evaluating and validating self-driving models. The engineer will lead the design and implementation of ML-based tools that enhance the scenario pipeline, ensuring driving models are thoroughly tested and optimized across diverse conditions.Role involves:

• Leading the development of robust ML models and augmentation techniques.
• Architecting scalable systems for mining, curating, and synthesizing data.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Driving innovation in scenario coverage.
• Owning end-to-end technical solutions.
• Identifying and addressing infrastructure gaps.
• Mentoring engineers across teams.

Requirements:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields, with 10+ years of industry experience.
• Proven experience in building, deploying, and scaling production-level ML solutions.
• Deep understanding of ML fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience leading and executing large-scale, cross-functional projects.
• 7+ years of experience in ML engineering and 4+ years in production deployments.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, SQL, and managing large-scale databases.
