Tech lead, Automotive Onboard Software

Job Description

Wayve is seeking a Technical Lead for Embedded Automotive Software to contribute to the development and deployment of software that supports the running of an advanced end-to-end AI model for autonomous driving. The role involves leading technical programs and ensuring the robustness, compliance, and performance of automotive embedded systems.

The candidate will be responsible for designing software architecture to integrate Wayve's ML-based AD solution into an automotive L2-L3 system application. This is a high-visibility role, providing broad technical leadership for a fast-growing team and company.

Responsibilities:

• Independently lead extensive areas of embedded software development and critical automotive programs.
• Design and develop software architecture to integrate machine learning-based autonomous driving solution.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and refine the software architecture.
• Collaborate with safety and functional safety teams to ensure software architecture aligns with ISO 26262.
• Maintain a robust, compliant, and scalable code base for embedded systems.
• Deliver and maintain real-time Linux-based and QNX-based applications for a fleet of embedded devices.
• Develop and implement fault-tolerant software solutions with comprehensive system diagnostics.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and lead forums to promote a culture of engineering excellence and compliance.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in developing and deploying safety-critical automotive embedded software in C++ for automotive products.
• Deep understanding and experience with ASPICE-compliant Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Expertise in creating embedded software using the AUTOSAR architecture.
• Strong leadership qualities, capable of leading cross-functional teams and projects.
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical and business concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
