Job Description
Global Atlantic Financial Group is seeking an Associate, Investment Accounting to support the accounting for renewables and infrastructure investments. The role involves preparing monthly ledger reconciliations to validate the accuracy of investment results provided by third-party administrators (TPA) on a GAAP basis and preparing required GAAP 10Q/K investment disclosures. The candidate must work well in a fast-paced environment and execute results timely and accurately.
Responsibilities include:
- Recognizing and recording complex new renewable energy and infrastructure investment acquisitions and dispositions.
- Managing monthly investment and suspense reconciliations for renewable energy and infrastructure investments.
- Performing month-end closing procedures, including analytical reviews of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) financial statements.
- Performing control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and NAIC Model Audit Rule.
- Preparing monthly management reports that provide analysis of investment results.
- Overseeing and monitoring activity in each SPV assigned.
- Performing ad hoc analysis and assisting with special projects.
- Collaborating with functional teams, including Auditors.
Requirements:
- Renewable energy investment accounting background (strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Public Accounting experience a plus.
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles.
- Familiarity with complex transactions, internal securitizations, and SPVs.
- Familiarity with investment accounting systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel.
- Pro-active, detail oriented, deadline driven.
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle competing priorities and multiple deliverables.
