Senior Network Engineer - Network Automation Team

Job Description

Leaseweb is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Network Automation Team in Amsterdam. This role requires relocation to the Netherlands. The engineer will work within a team of 90 engineers in small scrum teams, with a remote-first approach, meeting in person twice a year at the Amsterdam headquarters. The Senior Network Engineer will help the Automation team understand the Leaseweb Core network, identifying steps to improve and prepare it for future products. The role involves working in both the Network Design and Network Automation teams. In the Network Design team, the engineer will learn and operate the Leaseweb core network, including engineer on duty responsibilities. In the Network Automation team, they will use their operational experience to identify automation opportunities.Role involves:

• Training and coaching colleagues
• Designing and selecting new network technology, architectures, or services
• Designing and managing the deployment of new generic network infrastructure
• Bridging the gap between Network Design and Network Automation teams
• Serving as a subject matter expert for the network
• Assisting customers, other departments, and entities
• Acting as the last point of contact for technical escalations related to network services

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of ISP-related technologies or experience in the hosting or datacenter industry
• Ability to quickly understand existing network architecture and find ways to improve it
• Knowledge of common Linux distributions (Ubuntu, and optionally Red Hat, Debian)
• Team player with the ability to help peers and be open to receiving help
• Driven to improve quality and prevent incidents
• Fluent English communication skills
