Job Description
YouGov is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Finance Systems unit in Mumbai. This role is within the Development and Engineering team, where the Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining optimized data pipelines and data models to facilitate data analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, continuously developing new and improved data engineering and modeling capabilities.

Role involves:
  • Taking ownership of, maintaining, and further developing ETL pipelines and tabular data models.
  • Ensuring reliability and accuracy of data pipelines and data models.
  • Providing effective diagnostics tools for troubleshooting production issues.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of YouGov datasets and source systems.
  • Providing technical systems to efficiently acquire and integrate new data sources.
  • Supporting technical teams as a subject matter expert for ETL, cloud and on-prem data pipelines, and tabular modeling.

Requirements:
  • Experience in solving complex problems with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading medium-sized ETL and Data Modeling Projects end-to-end.
  • Experience delivering comprehensive technical and conceptual Documentation.
  • Comfortable working with virtual teams.
  • Structured, analytical, and calm approach to troubleshooting.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the Power BI/Power Query ecosystem.
  • First-hand practical experience with Azure Compute, Database, and Storage resources.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server and REST APIs.
  • Ability to automate solutions via .Net (Core) and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience implementing modern DevOps principles.
  • Experience in implementing fit-for-purpose testing pipelines.
