Job Description
Cobblestone Energy, an energy trading company specializing in European Gas and Power markets, is seeking an Energy Meteorologist. The successful candidate will deliver high-impact weather forecasts and insights, collaborating closely with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities. This role requires translating complex meteorological data into actionable intelligence to optimize strategies and contribute directly to the company's commercial success.
The role involves:
- Providing meteorological forecasts and analyses for intraday, day-ahead, and month-ahead trading horizons.
- Developing and maintaining advanced statistical and numerical models.
- Translating complex meteorological data into clear insights.
- Presenting actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
- Partnering with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies.
- Collaborating with data scientists, developers, and fellow meteorologists.
- Staying up-to-date on advancements in meteorological science and energy trading practices.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years as an Energy Meteorologist in energy trading environments.
- Understanding of European Gas and Power markets.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative team player.
