Job Description

Cobblestone Energy, established in 2017, is seeking an Energy Meteorologist to deliver high-impact weather forecasts for the European Gas and Power markets. The Energy Meteorologist will collaborate with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, optimize strategies, and contribute directly to the company's commercial success.

Responsibilities:

• Provide meteorological forecasts and analyses for trading horizons, focusing on weather's impact on European Gas and Power prices.
• Develop and maintain statistical and numerical models to capture relationships between weather patterns and market volatility.
• Translate complex meteorological data into clear insights for commercial decisions.
• Present actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
• Partner with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies.
• Work with data scientists, developers, and meteorologists to drive innovation.
• Adapt forecasting models to evolving market conditions.

Requirements:

• 2–3 years as an Energy Meteorologist in energy trading environments related to intraday to month-ahead.
• Understanding of European Gas and Power markets and how weather shapes demand, supply, and price dynamics.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical approach, problem-solving abilities.
• A collaborative team player.
