Job Description

RAPP is seeking a Principal / Lead Data Scientist to join its Data Science team within the Marketing Sciences Department. The role involves leading a team and driving innovative solutions in the marketing industry, leveraging AI to reinvent marketing for major brands. The position is based in London and offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects with a global impact.

What this role involves:

  • Designing, building, and implementing predictive models such as causal AI campaign modelling, campaign forecasting engines, pricing elasticity models, and recommender engines.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of data scientists, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
  • Analysing data, uncovering trends, and delivering actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Developing data solutions, tools, and prototypes to showcase capabilities and empower clients.
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring processes are documented for scalability.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in building machine learning models for tasks like recommendations, segmentation, forecasting, and optimising marketing spend.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Bash, and Git, with hands-on experience in tools like Jupyter notebooks, Pandas, PyTorch, and more.
  • Experience with A/B testing and other experimentation methods to validate model performance and business impact.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake), containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil complex analyses into insights that clients can easily understand and act on.
