Job Description
Cobblestone Energy, a company specializing in European Gas and Power markets, is seeking an Energy Meteorologist to deliver weather forecasts and insights for intraday through month-ahead horizons. The successful candidate will collaborate with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, contributing to commercial success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate meteorological forecasts for intraday, day-ahead, and month-ahead trading horizons, focusing on weather's impact on European Gas and Power prices.
- Develop and maintain statistical and numerical models to capture relationships between weather patterns and short-term market volatility.
- Translate meteorological data into insights that inform commercial decisions.
- Present actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
- Partner with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies.
- Work closely with data scientists, developers, and fellow meteorologists to drive innovation.
- Stay updated on advancements in meteorological science and energy trading practices.
- Adapt forecasting models to evolving market conditions.

Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience as an Energy Meteorologist in intraday to month-ahead energy trading environments.
- Strong understanding of European Gas and Power markets and how weather fluctuations shape demand, supply, and price dynamics.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
