Job Description

IMC Trading is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its Energy Trading business in Amsterdam. The Legal Counsel will work independently and collaboratively with various departments, including Risk, Compliance, Finance, Trading, and Technology. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of energy and contract law.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and IMC policies.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements.
  • Assisting in onboarding with exchanges and TSOs.
  • Monitoring and interpreting evolving market legal structures.
  • Supporting licensing and passporting processes.
  • Partnering with Compliance, Risk, Trading, and Operations teams.
  • Liaising with external counsel.

Requirements:

  • Academic Law degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a Law Firm and/or as In-house Legal Counsel.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with Energy- and Contract law.
  • Pragmatism, urgency, and initiative.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Ability to act independently in a fast-paced environment.
