Job Description

IMC is seeking a skilled HPC Storage Engineer to join their global team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing IMC's global storage platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional research and engineering teams to optimize data workflows and accelerate computational workloads.

The role involves:

  • Designing, deploying, and managing a global storage platform.
  • Collaborating with research and engineering teams.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex storage, Linux, and networking challenges.
  • Integrating storage systems with distributed computing clusters.
  • Participating in ‘follow-the-sun’ support.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in system storage architecture and system design.
  • Experience with storage systems like Lustre, GPFS, S3, BeeGFS, Weka, Ceph, Vast, PowerScale, DDN, MinIO.
  • Strong Linux Engineering skills.
  • Understanding of storage stack implementation.
  • Storage benchmarking and performance tuning experience.
  • Ability to manage large-scale, performance-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of hardware components critical to storage systems.
  • Proficiency in programming with languages such as Rust, Python, Go, or Bash.
