Job Description
Cobblestone Energy is seeking an Energy Meteorologist to deliver impactful weather forecasts for the European Gas and Power markets. The successful candidate will collaborate with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, optimize strategies, and contribute to commercial success.
This role involves:
- Providing meteorological forecasts and analyses for intraday, day-ahead, and month-ahead trading horizons
- Developing and maintaining advanced statistical and numerical models
- Translating meteorological data into actionable insights
- Presenting intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership
- Partnering with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies
- Collaborating with data scientists, developers, and meteorologists
- Adapting forecasting models to evolving market conditions
Requirements:
- 2–3 years as an Energy Meteorologist in energy trading environments
- Understanding of European Gas and Power markets
- A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical approach and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative team player
