Job Description
Cobblestone Energy, an energy trading company specializing in European Gas and Power markets, is seeking an Energy Meteorologist to deliver high-impact weather forecasts and insights. The Energy Meteorologist will collaborate with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, optimize strategies, and contribute to the company's commercial success.
The role involves:
- Providing accurate meteorological forecasts for intraday, day-ahead, and month-ahead trading horizons.
- Developing and maintaining statistical models to capture relationships between weather patterns and market volatility.
- Translating complex data into clear insights for commercial decisions.
- Presenting actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
- Partnering with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies.
- Collaborating with data scientists, developers, and meteorologists to drive innovation.
Requirements include:
- 2-3 years of experience as an Energy Meteorologist in energy trading.
- Understanding of European Gas and Power markets and how weather impacts them.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
