Job Description

FREE NOW is seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Lead to join their Marketplace department. The ideal candidate will work closely with Product and Engineering Managers to enhance existing products and explore opportunities to improve Marketplace performance. This role involves leading a team of 4 to 6 Machine Learning Engineers, providing mentorship, and overseeing the data strategy in collaboration with the Data Science Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring Machine Learning Engineers to improve system architecture and reliability.
  • Collaborating with data science and engineering managers to set priorities.
  • Conceptualizing and implementing ML engineering infrastructure.
  • Facilitating collaboration between product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
  • Identifying and solving complex problems to improve real-time data products.
  • Advocating for Machine Learning Engineers and improving delivery speed and quality.

Requirements:

  • Problem solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in leading and developing data teams.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to define project objectives and timelines.
  • Proficiency in Python, MLFlow, Databricks, and other data stack tools.
