Machine Learning Engineering Lead (m/f/d) - Hamburg

Job Description

FREE NOW is seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Lead to join their Marketplace department. This role is based in Hamburg, but offers flexibility to work from Berlin, Athens, or Barcelona. The Machine Learning Engineering Lead will work closely with Product and Engineering Managers to enhance existing products and explore new opportunities to improve Marketplace performance. The candidate will lead a team of 4-6 Machine Learning Engineers, providing mentorship and guidance, and will be responsible for the data strategy of Marketplace in collaboration with the Data Science Lead.

Role Involves:

• Mentoring Machine Learning Engineers to improve system architecture, reliability, and monitoring.
• Setting priorities for the team in collaboration with the Data Science Lead and Engineering Managers.
• Conceptualizing and implementing components of the ML engineering infrastructure.
• Facilitating collaboration between Product Managers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Identifying, structuring, and solving complex problems to improve real-time data products.
• Advocating for Machine Learning Engineers within the business.
