Job Description
Cobblestone Energy, an energy trading company specializing in European Gas and Power markets, is seeking an Energy Meteorologist. The successful candidate will collaborate with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, contributing directly to the company's commercial success. This role involves providing detailed weather forecasts and analyses, developing advanced statistical and numerical models, and translating complex data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate meteorological forecasts for intraday to month-ahead trading horizons.
- Developing and maintaining advanced statistical and numerical models.
- Translating complex meteorological data into clear insights.
- Presenting actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
- Partnering with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies.
- Working with data scientists and developers to drive innovation.
- Adapting forecasting models to evolving market conditions.
- Upholding Cobblestone’s core values.
Requirements include:
- 2–3 years as an Energy Meteorologist in energy trading environments.
- Strong understanding of European Gas and Power markets.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative team player.
