Design System Lead

Job Description

Pendo is seeking a Design System Lead to drive the strategy and evolution of its Prism design system. The Design System Lead will collaborate with the Design, Experience and Research (DXR) team and two UX engineers to create a consistent, flexible, and scalable system of components.This role involves:

• Leading the strategy and ongoing evolution of Pendo's Prism design system.
• Driving platform-wide improvements to create a modern, intuitive UX.
• Creating alignment with cross-functional peers and leadership across Product Design, Engineering, and Brand.
• Evaluating the entire platform holistically and prioritizing initiatives with company-wide impact.
• Establishing and refining governance models for pattern and component libraries.
• Balancing design system integrity with innovative approaches, including AI tools.
• Measuring and communicating the impact of design system initiatives.
• Mentoring other designers and elevating overall design quality.

Minimum qualifications include:

• 5+ years of design experience, including design systems and component libraries.
• Demonstrated leadership in establishing design standards across complex products (B2B, SaaS products).
• Experience using and implementing AI tools in design workflows.
• Advanced expertise with Figma and component-based design workflows.
• Proven ability to build strong partnerships with engineering and drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Track record of making complex design decisions with significant business impact.
