Job Description

Cobblestone Energy is seeking a Senior Gas Trader to join their team in Dubai, UAE. The company is an energy trading company specializing in the European Gas and Power markets, established in 2017. In this role, the Senior Gas Trader will play a central role in expanding models, developing new trading strategies, managing the portfolio across the curve, and generally having the opportunity to trade both physical and financial products. The role offers a full-time, high-impact position within the Commercial team, a chance to solve complex problems, and equity participation.

Responsibilities:

• Execute trades across major EU gas markets, focusing on both physical and financial opportunities.
• Optimise storage, transportation, and capacity portfolios to maximise profitability.
• Develop and implement data-driven trading strategies and tools for market analysis.
• Conduct thorough analysis of market fundamentals, logistics, and trends to capitalise on trading opportunities.
• Manage risk and compliance effectively while ensuring adherence to company mandates.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the gas trading desk and identify areas for growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including analytics and operations, to enhance trading performance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in European natural gas trading, with a proven track record of success.
• In-depth understanding of gas fundamentals, logistics, and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise complex portfolios and identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative tools and programming (e.g., Python, R, or Excel VBA).
• A robust network within the natural gas industry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
