Job Description

Cobblestone Energy, an energy trading company specializing in the European Gas and Power markets, is seeking a Senior Gas Trader to join their team in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will play a central role in expanding models, developing new trading strategies, and managing the portfolio across the curve.

This role offers a chance to trade both physical and financial products within a dynamic Commercial team, working alongside exceptional colleagues including tech, analysts, quants and originators. it also provides a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects, make independent decisions, and take full ownership of new projects, with equity participation.

Responsibilities include:

• Executing trades across major EU gas markets, focusing on both physical and financial opportunities.
• Optimising storage, transportation, and capacity portfolios to maximise profitability.
• Developing and implement data-driven trading strategies and tools for market analysis.
• Conducting thorough analysis of market fundamentals, logistics, and trends to capitalise on trading opportunities.
• Managing risk and compliance effectively while ensuring adherence to company mandates.
• Contributing to the strategic direction of the gas trading desk and identify areas for growth.
• Collaborating with internal teams, including analytics and operations, to enhance trading performance.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• 5+ years of experience in European natural gas trading, with a proven track record of success.
• In-depth understanding of gas fundamentals, logistics, and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise complex portfolios and identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative tools and programming (e.g., Python, R, or Excel VBA).
• A robust network within the natural gas industry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
