Pure Storage is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers focused on ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. The Engineering Manager will provide technical direction and mentoring, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify new use cases and improvements. This role involves scaling up processes for test-driven development in a CI/CD environment and expanding the shift-left approach for Quality Engineering.
What this role involves:
- Leading a team of Software Test Engineers.
- Optimizing testing procedures and enhancing software quality.
- Collaborating with partners across business units in multiple geographical regions.
- Formulating strategic plans to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Executing automation strategies to drive engineering teams to build automation at scale.
- Evangelizing creativity in problem-solving and innovation.
- Challenging the status quo and seeking opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborating across the engineering organization to define strategy.
- Defining and executing strategies for test coverage.
- Measuring and driving a balance of efficiency and quality improvements.
- Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with 3+ years in technical leadership.
- Experience with storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN).
- Technical hands-on leadership in Linux kernel storage, drivers, and filesystems.
- Experience in developing test strategies and software test automation.
- Experience with automation frameworks and developer tools.
- Experience with test-driven development integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of the enterprise storage industry.
- Hands-on experience in mentoring, hiring, and scaling teams.
- Demonstrated abilities in Python.
- Excellent communication skills.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
