Server Test Engineer, Hyperscale

Job Description

Pure Storage is seeking a Server Test Engineer, Hyperscale to join their Hyperscale Business Unit. In this role, the candidate will lead the development, validation, and optimization of test solutions for high-performance storage servers during manufacturing. This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for ensuring test efficiency, coverage, and product reliability across multiple contract manufacturing sites. The candidate will work closely with Hardware Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, and ODM/JDM partners to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and high-volume production.

What this role involves:

• Defining and owning end-to-end manufacturing test plans for hyperscale storage servers
• Developing and optimizing test sequences across all stages
• Deploying, maintaining, and monitoring test infrastructure
• Partnering with Hardware, Firmware, and Operations Engineering to bring up test processes for new server SKUs and Direct Flash Modules (DFMs)
• Writing and maintaining Python or shell scripts for test automation, logging, and diagnostics
• Working closely with ODM/JDM and CM partners to deploy and support Pure’s test standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in server or storage manufacturing test development or validation
• Hands-on experience with Linux, PXE, BMC/IPMI, and test automation tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, C++)
• Familiarity with hardware validation tools
• Strong debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills
