Sr Commodity Manager

Pure Storage is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to lead the sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management of key commodities. The Senior Commodity Manager will develop and execute commodity strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, R&D, and manufacturing, to align with business objectives.

• Leading the development and execution of strategic sourcing strategies.
• Analyzing commodity market trends and supply chain dynamics.
• Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Leading supplier negotiations and managing contracts.
• Monitoring supplier performance to meet quality, cost, and lead time objectives.
• Continuously monitoring and analyzing commodity cost structures.
• Assessing and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions.
• Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams.
• Analyzing global market trends and industry forecasts.
• Preparing and presenting reports to senior leadership.
• Working with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels.
• Providing leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in commodity management, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of global supply chains, commodity markets, and sourcing strategies.
• Proven track record of leading supplier negotiations and managing supplier performance.
• Experience in managing risk and driving cost optimization within commodity management.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other procurement tools.
