Job Description
Envoy Global is seeking a Lead/Manager, Data Engineering to design, develop, and document data pipelines and ETL processes. This role involves data migration, integration, and warehousing, including creating ETL jobs, reports, dashboards, and data pipelines.

The role involves leading a small team of data engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation. The candidate will design robust data pipelines and ETL jobs, engage in data modeling, and ensure seamless data integration across platforms. They will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data engineering pipelines in Azure, collaborating with Data Analytics, DataOps, and other teams. Ensuring data engineering standards align with data governance, quality, and security principles is crucial, as is monitoring and optimizing data pipeline performance to meet SLAs.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a small team of data engineers.
  • Design, develop, and document robust data pipelines and ETL jobs.
  • Engage in data modeling activities.
  • Ensure seamless data integration across platforms.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data engineering pipelines in Azure.
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics and DataOps teams.
  • Ensure data engineering standards align with data governance, quality, and security.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance.
  • Hire, manage and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Data Quality Engineers
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in data engineering and ETL processes.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Leadership experience in managing data engineers.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience in a managerial role
  • Technical experience in cloud-based data warehouse/data lake platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Azure Synapse).
  • ETL experience using SSIS, ADF, or equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Modeling and Data warehouse concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to write SQL/TSQL queries
  • Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues, and experience with best practices around database operations
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment
