Job Description

Cobblestone Energy, an energy trading company specializing in European Gas and Power markets, is seeking a Senior Gas Trader to join their team in Dubai, UAE. The role involves expanding models, developing new trading strategies, managing the portfolio across the curve and trading physical and financial products.

The Senior Gas Trader will play a central role in the commercial team, working alongside exceptional colleagues in tech, analytics, quants, and origination. Responsibilities:

• Execute trades across major EU gas markets, focusing on both physical and financial opportunities.
• Optimise storage, transportation, and capacity portfolios to maximise profitability.
• Develop and implement data-driven trading strategies and tools for market analysis.
• Conduct thorough analysis of market fundamentals, logistics, and trends to capitalise on trading opportunities.
• Manage risk and compliance effectively while ensuring adherence to company mandates.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the gas trading desk and identify areas for growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including analytics and operations, to enhance trading performance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in European natural gas trading.
• In-depth understanding of gas fundamentals, logistics, and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise complex portfolios and identify profitable trading opportunities.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative tools and programming (e.g., Python, R, or Excel VBA).
• A robust network within the natural gas industry.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
