Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform

Signifyd is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Cloud Platform team in Budapest, Hungary. This role is crucial for shaping the future of Signifyd's cloud platform, promoting developer self-service, and ensuring operational excellence. The Engineering Manager will build scalable, secure, and cost-optimized systems across AWS and GCP, empower teams with tools to innovate faster, and drive reliability through 24/7 monitoring.

What this role involves:

• Leading the development of a scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud platform across AWS and GCP.
• Providing technical leadership for designing and operating Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native services.
• Championing developer self-service by building tools and frameworks.
• Defining and measuring developer productivity using frameworks like DORA and SPACE.
• Establishing and managing a robust 24/7 monitoring strategy.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps and deliver high-priority projects.
• Owning relationships with cloud service providers.
• Optimizing cloud spend through FinOps practices.
• Advocating for architectural best practices in cloud platform development.
• Mentoring and growing a high-performing team of engineers.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or cloud platform roles, with 2+ years in technical leadership or management.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, AWS/GCP infrastructure, and databases (e.g., MySQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra).
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Pulumi), observability platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch), and SLO-driven reliability management.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing efficient 24/7 monitoring systems and processes.
• Proven ability to build and lead distributed teams across geographies.
• Excellent communication skills with a track record of mentoring engineers.
