Senior Director, Engineering

Job Description

Snyk is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the Snyk Open Source engineering team. This role involves driving the execution of the product strategy for Snyk Open Source, a significant Software Composition Analysis product. The Senior Director will build and manage a world-class engineering team, addressing technically challenging problems in dependency analysis, security intelligence, and remediation. They will foster innovation, ensure predictable delivery, and enhance customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:

• Build long-term strategy for Snyk Open Source.
• Optimize innovation, support, cost, reliability, and performance.
• Create and execute organizational strategy for senior talent.
• Lead cross-team collaboration to resolve issues and risks.
• Establish clear success criteria for direct reports.
• Build a high-performing, engaged team.
• Serve as a mentor and advisor to senior engineering talent.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical leadership roles.
• Experience in an executive/director level role.
• Proven track record of leading software engineering organizations of 50-100.
• Expertise in building developer tools or software build tools/language ecosystems.
• Proficiency in software development, system architecture, and operational practices.
• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
