Fortra is seeking an IT Operations Engineer I to join their team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone with experience in an IT Service Desk setting. The IT Operations Engineer I will be responsible for receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and escalating end-user requests. They will provide active and effective resolutions to meet user needs, using diagnostic and helpdesk request tracking tools. The engineer will collaborate with local and remote users, supporting desktops, end-user computing technologies, and assisting in basic infrastructure support.
What this role involves:
Providing on-site IT support at Fortra’s Corporate Headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
Supporting, logging, and triaging all IT-related issues, escalating for resolution and improving documentation processes.
Providing operational support of systems like DNS, SSO, VM, network, and printing services.
Administering and utilizing End User Computing tooling, such as Endpoint Management, software deployment, ticketing, and automation.
Ensuring software license compliance and managing workstation OS and software updates.
Managing and troubleshooting end-user devices and applications; handling account provisioning, access rights, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
Handling workstation provisioning, inventory, lifecycle, and ensuring timely hardware/software deployment for new hires.
Conducting user orientations and training.
Collaborating with IT, Security, DevOps, and CloudOps teams on complex issues or projects.
Enhancing team processes and working with cross-functional teams for project implementations.
Requirements:
Must be local to Eden Prairie, Minnesota and able to work from the office at least four days a week.
At least 2 years’ experience working in an enterprise IT organization, in a technical support role.
Strong proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), office productivity suites, and common software applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 admin, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, MFA and Azure.
Good understanding of networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques. (e.g. TeamViewer)
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to collaborate with technical and non-technical people at all levels of the organization.
Excellent customer service skills.
