Job Description

Fortra is seeking a Senior Director of Managed Security Operations to lead their Digital Risk Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong cybersecurity background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in overseeing security operations, scaling security effectiveness, and customer engagement. This role is crucial in ensuring the protection of Fortra's customers against cyber threats.

The Senior Director will be responsible for managing security operations within the managed services division. This involves developing and implementing security strategies, ensuring the effective operation of security controls, and leading a team to protect client environments and internal infrastructure. The Senior Director will collaborate with senior leadership, clients, and internal teams to enhance security posture and respond to security challenges.

What this role involves:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Managers, security analysts, Leads and SMEs.
  • Collaborating with R&D to continually drive to better automated security outcomes.
  • Collaborating with CSMs and AMs to ensure full-value delivery and communication for all customers.
  • Leveraging automation to ensure optimal gross margins.
  • Continuously evaluating and maturing a strong set of KPIs and control plans.
  • Partnering with SOC Leads to Coordinate schedules, assignments, and tasks to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Accountable for the daily operations of the SOC, overseeing incident detection, analysis, response, and resolution.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, acting as an escalation point of contact for customer issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of managing security operations and delivering managed security services. At least 5 years in a senior management or Director role.
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies and tools, including Phishing techniques, email based threats, Social network based threats, threat intelligence, data mining and countermeasure design and creation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2) and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive security initiatives and manage complex security challenges.
